Lochwinnoch Arts Festival
About Lochwinnoch Arts Festival
Lochwinnoch Arts Festival 2017, the 16th annual Festival of Music, Drama, Literature, Creative & Visual Arts will be held from 15th March - 26th March.
The Lochwinnoch Arts Festival offers a varied and inclusive programme of arts for all ages. Not only do we invite some well-known artists to come and share with us their talent and experience, we recognise the huge artistic talent within our community and the Festival strives to showcase these members of our village.
We are hosting nine pre festival events including ‘Mapping Lochwinnoch’ and ‘Crafts from the Past’. These two are highlighting our rich heritage. A first for the festival is a collaboration with Paisley Art Centre with a comedy night on the 11th March!
There are a number of our favourite performers and artists returning including Karine Polwart, Eirlys Myfanwy Davies, Flute Phonics, Govan Gaelic Choir, Calder Drama, Glasgow Theatre Guild, the Rose Room and many more! We have some exciting new acts and performances including Fara - four exciting Orkney musicians, Tony Roper, the Glasgow Caledonian Fiddle Orchestra and many more!
This year we invite you to bring out the artist in you with over 9 come and try and 5 workshop events including drawing, penny whistle, pottery and more.
In the library this year we have two art exhibitions and the popular photography exhibition. Watch out for the ‘Odd Men Out’ window competition in local shops - see how observant you are and win a £20 token (pick up your form in Now and Then!). Rowena’s second hand books will be on sale in McKillop all proceeds to St Vincent’s hospice. Lastly, many shops and business are offering discounts and festival offers, see the festival brochure for full details.
