The Mill Inn, in the friendly heritage village of Coulter, is steeped in history going all the way back to the 12th century. Our family-owned pub is situated in beautiful surroundings next to an old water mill. If low wooden beams, picturesque surroundings and a touch of history is your idea of an ideal setting then we offer you no better place to visit than The Mill Inn, Coulter.

Steeped in local history the Mill was not only for grain but also a saw mill and a stone gargoyle is the only remaining part of the original building from the 12th century.

Alison and Stewart Barrie, owners of The Mill Inn, have over 50 years catering experience and are proud of our menu offering. We cater for all tastes and budgets...anything from a baguette or salad snack, tasty starters such as local specialities Morag Dubh or Cullen Skink, right through to sumptuous steaks.

Our location is perfect for any function. We host weddings, christenings, birthdays, funerals or any party or get-together. We can cater for any budget; simply give us a call to discuss your requirements. Our gardens are perfect for weddings and we can erect marquees to suit your needs; an ideal reception setting with a scenic backdrop, ideal for your photographs. Why not try our famous hog roast?

There is also another tangible link to the past, yes, we have our very own ghost. On November 1923, Robert Forrest the miller, died alone in the top room of the Mill when an accident caused his death.

The Mill Inn is open daily from 11.00am.
