About Woodlands Primary School And Nursery

Woodlands Primary is a non-denominational school which opened in August 2000. We have a blaze football pitch, two large hard surface playing areas and we are surrounded by grass. The school has a catchment area which covers both Carbrain and Greenfaulds. Our Primary Seven pupils normally transfer to Greenfaulds High School.

Our Nursery Class is situated within the main building and currently caters for 60 children aged 3 to 5 years. Places are allocated according to regional guidelines. The day is divided into two parts with 30 x 5 session places both in the morning and afternoon. Nursery hours are 9.00 to 11.30am and 12.45 to 3.15pm.

We have a large gymnasium and a kitchen with dining area which provides a wide range of foods. As the school is all on one level, we can accommodate children with mobility problems. We have a disabled toilet within the Infant Department, a unisex disabled toilet within the Junior / Senior Department, a shower area and ramps to two rooms via the fire doors.

A full range of out-of-school activities is provided which cater for children at all stages from primaries one to seven and we strive to participate in National and Local Authority events. We strive to encourage the pupils to have pride in their school and to be involved in a wide range of whole school events including Christmas Concerts, Sports Days, Active Learning Days and our Summer Show.
