The event, taking place on Saturday 3 November, will be an afternoon of Halloween-themed fun and entertainment including a haunted Halloween maze, ghost train and other funfair rides.
There will also be a scary puppet show and animal man with his creepy crawly friends on display.
Live entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon by Clyde 1 from the main stage on Gauze Street culminating in a fantastic fireworks finale over Paisley Abbey.
The Fireworks will be the first of two major winter events taking place in Paisley town centre this November, followed by the Christmas Lights Switch-on on Saturday 10 November.
Renfrewshire Council decided to reintroduce two separate events after the previous council combined them in 2011.
Renfrewshire Council Leader Mark Macmillan said: “We’ve taken on board feedback from the public and the local business community and decided to give the town not one but two fantastic winter events this year. By making them both all-day events the town’s retailers will get a double boost while also giving the people of Renfrewshire and beyond twice as much free fun and entertainment in the countdown to Christmas.
“The stunning backdrop of Paisley Abbey always provides an amazing setting for the town’s fireworks and this year we’re adding to the fun with our ‘spooktacular’ Halloween theme. It’s going to be a great event and I’m looking forward to seeing loads of people out enjoying themselves in Paisley on the day.”
To add to the Halloween theme, this year crowds are being invited to come to the event in fancy dress, with prizes being offered by Clyde 1 for the best costumes.
Free parking is now available every weekend at all Renfrewshire Council car parks and will be available on the day at all council car parks excluding the Council’s headquarters on Cotton Street.
Additional free parking will also be provided at Reid Kerr College, Paisley Grammar School and Castlehead High School.
The event is being sponsored by a number of local organisations including the Piazza Shopping Centre, the Paisley Shopping Centre, Braehead, Ingliston Country Club, Reid Kerr College, Strathclyde Police, St Mirren Football Club, the University of the West of Scotland, BAA Glasgow Airport, Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, Renfrewshire Leisure and City Building Contractors.
The event takes place on Saturday 3 November starting at 12pm, with the fireworks finale at 6pm.
Environmentally conscious individuals are being asked to volunteer for a new community taskforce to help protect Renfrewshire's rich riverbank habitats.
