This coupled with big plans for events and the site itself, more on that later, and getting off to a great start with the retention of its coveted 5* rating with Visit Scotland, suggest Loch Lomond Shores is going to have a great year.
The new additions to the team at Loch Lomond Shores started late in 2018 and have hit the ground running. Andrew Dalglish, the new Facilities Manager, is proud to be part of the team who helped retain the 5* rating from Visit Scotland and explains: “The site team and I are really focused on making sure Loch Lomond Shores is a cracking destination for both local people and tourists. Our Visit Scotland report included lots of praise on the maintenance and cleanliness of the site which is essential if we want our customers to have a good experience. Over the course of 2019 I’ll also be working to identify any areas we can improve upon in terms of the facilities on offer at Loch Lomond Shores, as well as playing a key part in any developments or refurbishments scheduled in the coming year.”
Audrey Calder, the other new team member who is responsible for marketing and events, has previously worked at Loch Lomond Shores and knows the site well. She’s enthusiastic to be back and full of plans for the months ahead: “I’m really excited to be back and to work hard to make Loch Lomond shores a buzzing venue for events and promote this unique site and all it has to offer, including a great day out for families. I am aware that many local people were disappointed that no big events happened during 2018 so my focus is very much on reintroducing old favourites and looking at new events we can host because we’re a brilliant venue for so many things! So far, we’re excited to announce that Springfest: The Scottish Food and Drink Festival will be returning on the 6th and 7th of April and we’ll be letting everyone know what will be happening that weekend soon, but it’s looking bigger and better than ever before!
“Our market has also been high on the agenda and we’re working closely with our market provider, Stall Hire Scotland, to make them a vibrant, exciting event that local people can come and enjoy. Our first is scheduled for Sunday 3rd of February and the new schedule for markets is the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. The focus will very much be on fresh produce and we’ll have a selection of hot food back on the menu too which is great news.”
Another great piece of news for 2019 is that Jenners, part of the House of Fraser Group, who were acquired by Sports Direct, is remaining at Loch Lomond Shores long-term and are excited to be welcoming new designer brands to the store for Spring/Summer 2019.
Lynne Herlihy, Store Manager says: “I’m delighted that our store at Loch Lomond Shores is part of the long-term strategy developed by our new owners and we’re excited that we’ll be welcoming some of the world’s top brands to our store in the next few months and be able to offer our regular customers and visitors to the site a fantastic, top-class shopping experience.”
With even more developments in the pipeline at Loch Lomond Shores, you can be sure you’ll be hearing from it regularly throughout 2019 with more good news and events.
