MACDONALD RESORTS TO HELP SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER WITH EMERGENCY SERVICE DISCOUNT
Christmas is a day to spend with family and friends, but for 400,000* NHS staff and a huge number of emergency service workers, it will be business as usual as they care for patients and provide vital services. To thank these workers and help them relax after the festive season, Macdonald Resorts is offering an exclusive discount to be enjoyed after the big day.
Last year, #ThankYouNHS was trending on Twitter as tributes were paid to those working, and stats* showed that approximately 1,400 bundles of joy were expected to be welcomed into the UK by 12,000 midwives, many of whom would miss sharing the day with their own children. A team of hospital staff were set to serve up more than 400,000 Christmas dinners to make sure patients didn’t miss out on the festive feast and 12,000 frontline staff were also on hand to take care of those in the UK on this day of celebration.
In addition, it’s estimated 30,000* police officers in the UK will be on the ground to protect and serve their communities throughout the UK as revellers see in Christmas and the New Year. A huge number of Firefighters are poised and ready for action throughout the festivities as their jobs become only more difficult with accidents caused by Christmas lights, trees and festive candles which create a heavier workload over the holidays.
The loved ones of emergency service workers often host Christmas on an ‘alternative’ date, so they can celebrate together, which Macdonald Resorts is recognising and supporting, by offering an additional 10% discount on their already great value Winter Warmer packages.
The offer will be available from now until the end of March meaning there’s no rush to book in post-Christmas shift breaks for those snowed under with work responsibilities. The additional 10% discount is even valid on the Winter Sale which launches on Boxing Day.
Camille Craig, from Macdonald Resorts, said: “The time after Christmas and New Year is famously awkward, no one quite knows what to do, or indeed what day it is. Presents have been unwrapped and left-overs have been demolished, but for those working over the festive period, this is their time to celebrate, something Macdonald Resorts hope to help with by offering extra discounts on holidays across the UK and Spain.”
Macdonald Resorts are perfect for families or groups of friends looking to get away and create their own traditions. The extensive choice of holiday locations across the UK and Spain, means that Christmas dinner ‘round-two’ can be rustled up in the comfort of the spacious lodges all with fully equipped kitchens and spacious living and dining areas for entertaining before guests walk off their meal exploring our national parks and coastline. Alternatively, take advantage of the warmer climates and lower airfares and unwind along the Costa del Sol in a beachfront villa whilst soaking up some well-earned winter sun.
Soak up the country air, take a dip in the sea or bring out the board games and make use of the spacious family accommodation that can accommodate up to eight guests. Whatever your festive traditions are, make it one to cherish with Macdonald Resorts.
The exclusive discount is available on winter holidays from now until 31st March, excluding Festive Breaks, and can only be booked direct online.
