Social pace trail runs for runners who are building their confidence off road, want to explore new trails, and meet other runners. Expect great trails, a fair deal of mud, brilliant views of the city, a wooded glen, and a sense of wilderness.
Glennifer Braes is very close to Glasgow and offers some great trails.
We'll run at a social pace so that no one gets left behind, with lots of breaks to catch our breath and chat.
This guided run is for those who are new to trail running or running off road but can already run 5km at a relaxed pace (on roads).
Key information:
Start/finish: Brownside Farm Car Park (see map) Pick up from nearby train station can be arranged; please specify when booking.
Distance: 8 km (ish)
Terrain: tracks, some muddy.
How much elevation: this run involves some uphill sections which can be walked.
What to bring:
Trail running shoes - essential as the trails get slippery and the extra grip is important to prevent slips and falls
Hat/buff, gloves – recommended in colder weather
Waterproof jacket – recommended
The run will be led by experienced and qualified guide Gaby Macbeth of Skylark Guiding Ltd who will look after route finding and keeping everyone safe.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
