On 7 June Ferguslie CC will face reigning champions Clydesdale in the latest round of the Western District Cricket Union at Meikleriggs as they battle for league points.
However, the match has additional significance in that both teams will be playing for the Spirit of Cricket Trophy, in memory of two former cricket icons, Con de Lange and Sandy Strang, who played for both clubs with huge distinction, but who sadly are no longer with us.
Apart from the cricket on the day, there will be a number of fund raising activities going on, with all monies made going directly to the two cancer charities concerned, namely, the Brain Tumour and Marie Curie Trusts. who have benefited from these activities each year when we remember Con and Sandy.
Admission to the ground is free, and spectators will be invited to donate to these most worthwhile of charities.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
