You may have heard of the gruesome story of the Paisley Witch Trials of the 17th Century. You may all be familiar with the witches’ curses and the famous horseshoe at Maxwellton cross. But now experience it in illustrated picture book form.
J.L Givens' adaption of this piece of Renfrewshire history, 'The Witch & the Snitch' takes you back to 1696 in Erskine, where it all began... Doon fae the Highlands came a maid called Campbell. The Lairds daughter Christian cried Katherine Campbell a Witch ! But the truth was, young Christian Shaw wiz a Snitch!
This dark, illustrated rhyming Scottish picture book brings about the story in a whole new light. Intricately laced with the most detailed illustrations by Amelia Mangham.
