Debbie Googe is the bassist and driving pulse behind My Bloody Valentine and also the bassist for rock icons Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) and Brix Smith (The Fall). For this special edition of The Hangar, Debbie will present a solo performance of her project ‘da Googie’.
Expect a deep dive into her sound world, mixing traditional bass lines with abstract noises, vocals, visuals and field recordings to create intricate, layered soundscapes.
Debbie will also share a specially curated playlist throughout the evening featuring some of her musical inspirations.
There will also be surprises from the house band ‘Radhika’ plus a Q&A with Debbie giving us deeper insights into what makes her tick and her unique approach to playing bass.
'The Hangar' is a monthly event curated by musicians Sushil K Dade (The Soup Dragons / Future Pilot AKA) & Radhika, bringing together Scotland’s alternative artistic community for a multi-arts celebration of music, art, and unexpected collaborations. Each night will feature special guests and exclusive performances that inspire and challenge the way we experience art.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
