It will be run jointly by Ferguslie and Kelburne Cricket Clubs, in conjunction with the University of the West of Scotland and Renfrewshire Council, and will operate within the Lagoon Leisure Centre, with the backing of the Meikleriggs Cricket Foundation, on March 10, 17 & 24.
Ferguslie CC President John Docherty commented: "We're collectively aiming to build strong participation over the coming months with the goal of getting teams together and playing matches this summer. We see the initiative as a means of developing the game further in this area for women and girls. Scotland's Ladies team recently qualified for the T20 Worlds Cup and there are already well-established women's and girls' teams in Scotland, so we're hoping to add to the growing interest which is clearly already there. It's a great opportunity to try cricket in a fun, supportive environment, whether you're completely new to the game, or just want to get back into it."
"Admission to the event is absolutely free, and anyone who's interested in learning more, or who just wants to take part, can simply turn up on the night(s) indicated, or contact me at fergusliecricketclub@gmail.com for more information about this exciting initiative."
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
