The Visitor Centre and Country Park provide a great place to enjoy ‘wonderful water, walks and wildlife’ all year round in the ancestral homelands of the Clan Semple at the gateway to Scotland’s largest Regional Park.
Follow the ‘Semple Trail’ for a level off road route from the railway station, to the village, the Visitor Centre and along to Parkhill Wood past Castle Semple Collegiate Church and The Temple on Kenmure Hill to the village of Howwood.
Lots of outdoor activity courses and group taster sessions are available as well as bike hire, the Centre is on Sustrans off road cycle route 7 Glasgow – Irvine. There are a number of water sports and fishing clubs based at the Loch.
There is free car parking, toilets, picnic sites, sign posted walks, wildlife watching opportunities and a Countryside Ranger Service.
Clyde Muirshiel is Scotland's largest Regional Park - a great place to easily enjoy the outdoors. The Park is just west of Glasgow, south of Greenock, east of Largs and north of Ardrossan!
