Renfrewshire as we know it today is much smaller than it was in the past. In the context of history “Renfrewshire” refers to the Old County of Renfrew which today includes Inverclyde, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire and small parts of Glasgow.
Renfrewshire History has the aim of promoting the varied history of the Old County of Renfrew, through short courses, and occasional field work.
We have a series of short courses running all year, from genealogy to the Prehistory of Renfrewshire and 17th Century Witchcraft. Often new topics are suggested by those attending, and we do our best to add these to the programme.
From December you can find us in the Renfrewshire Witch Hunt 1697 Shop in the Paisley Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays 10-4pm.
