We’ve teamed up with Zero Waste Scotland to help cut down on the staggering 15 million disposable cups which are littered in Scotland every year – that’s more than 40,000 cups thrown away every day.
If you visit one of our participating Paisley cafes, you can collect a free reusable cup and get a minimum 20p discount when you bring it back to be reused.
To collect your free cup and lid, just pop along to
• Blend in Paisley Arts Centre
• The Boathouse Cafe in the Piazza Shopping Centre
• Infini’ Tea on the High Street
• Kettle Black at County Place
• Leisureland on the High Street
• Square Cafe at County Square
• Taste Buds on Lawn Street
• Who’s Cafe on Moss Street
When you return with your cup for a future drink, you’ll receive a minimum* 20p discount.
Chair of Paisley First, Elaine Templeton, said: “We are pleased to be working with Zero Waste Scotland to do our bit here in Paisley to reduce the number of single-use takeaway cups ending up in landfill.
“We hope our café customers will be only to happy to help reduce litter and enjoy a discount at the same time.”
Peter McCafferty, Business Support Manager at Zero Waste Scotland, said: “Single-use items make up significant proportion of our waste, and yet they’re a largely unnecessary component.
“We know that people want to do the right thing, but it needs to be an easy choice.
“By providing reusable cups, local businesses and community hubs can help their customers do the right thing for their local environment, while also contributing to a more sustainable, circular economy for Scotland.”
Cups are also available for Renfrewshire Council staff from the Atrium Cafe.
Love doing your bit to help the planet? Love Paisley!
*Discount will be a minimum of 20p, some cafes already offer a higher discount if you bring your own cup
