The recent Beat the Street challenge has come to an end across Renfrewshire with thousands of participants walking, cycling, wheeling, running and scooting around Bridge of Weir, Elderslie, Houston, Howwood, Kilbarchan, Linwood, Johnstone, and Lochwinnoch in a bid to win points and prizes!
A total of 6,542 players signed up and together clocked up a total of 60,664 active travel miles.

Councillor Michelle Campbell, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board, said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many people across Renfrewshire getting involved in Beat the Street. While we’re sad to see the game come to an end, the energy and enthusiasm from our communities has been truly inspiring. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who took part and made the choice to travel actively.”
Beat the Street Renfrewshire has been commissioned by Renfrewshire Council and funded by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT). It is being delivered by Intelligent Health.
With warmer days on the way, visitors to gardens at National Trust for Scotland places are being asked to follow biosecurity measures throughout the spring and summer seasons.
