After making history last year with our production of Macbeth in Paisley Town Hall, the beloved community singing group, Paisley Opera, are excited to be looking for new members to join our next venture - Gounod's Faust!
We're holding a "Gie us a Go!" session on Saturday the 2nd of March from 2pm - 5pm to offer a no-pressure taster to everyone interested in joining us. It doesn't matter whether you're an opera buff or have never sung a note before! Paisley Opera is free to join, and there will always be a cup of tea and a biccy during rehearsals!
Paisley Opera isn't just a choir - we put on full operas with costumes and staging and get to sing alongside pro opera singers and orchestral players! It's exciting, but nothing to be afraid of - we always sing our operas in a special "Paisley" translation, so you'll never have to worry about learning foreign languages, and we will have guide tracks for all of the music to help with your learning. It's also free to join. We're open to all experience levels because we believe that everyone can, and should sing!
Besides, this taster session is a chance for you to "gie us a go" with zero stress and zero commitment. So if you never want to come back again, that's completely fine (although we hope you might like to stay!)
Faust is a grand opera with an intruiging storyline and some absolutely gorgeous (and super catchy!) music. We can't wait to get started! Paisley Opera has no fees, no auditions, no obligation, and there is no experience necessary!
