Two significant and semi derelict former primary school buildings in the centre of Kilmacolm have undergone restoration, alteration and refurbishment with completely new interiors tailored to 21st century requirements.

This significant urban regeneration project has been achieved through 10 years of hard voluntary work, undertaken by the Kilmacolm New Community Centre (KNCC) Board.

The two buildings form a campus at the heart of the village and the entire area is now known as The Cargill Centre in recognition of one of our main funders, The WA Cargill Fund.

This magnificent campus comprises:

• the 3 storey Kilmacolm New Community Centre, with a wide range of flexible meeting spaces, 2 multi purpose halls for hire and a Café
• a single storey Library
• a 2 storey commercial space now used as a Doctor’s Surgery
• and the new village square
