Families are encouraged to pay a visit to XSite Braehead between 12-4pm, for a range of entertaining activities to delight and create amazing family memories all while raising money for a worthy cause.
Kids and adults alike can look forward to getting their face painted as their favourite animal, while a professional balloon artist will be on hand to bring incredible creatures to life.
Customers will be asked to make a small contribution to take part in the individual activities in aid of, One Great Day, with funds raised going towards the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and Great Ormond Street. One Great Day is a UK wide annual charity fundraising day, which aims to inspire, engage and empower communities to make a difference by getting involved in a series of local fundraising events held throughout the country.
Rosalind Gibson, Marketing Manager at XSite Braehead, said: “Our One Great Day event proved hugely popular with our customers last year, so we are delighted to be bringing it back again for 2022. The planned entertainment is designed for all the family, providing an opportunity for everyone to come together and enjoy.
“All money raised on the day will be donated to these amazing charities, including Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity which does so much vital work for children and families in our local area.”
William McGowan, Head of Partnerships & Events at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We would like to thank XSite Braehead once again for would like to share our thanks with XSite Braehead for their incredible fundraising efforts in support of our young patients, their families and the NHS staff caring for them.
“It is thanks to the generosity of our supporters that, 20 years on, we are still here for children and families when the lights go down at the end of another difficult day in hospital.
“Our charity-funded projects and support services such as the play programme, bereavement support and emergency family support depend entirely on donations and fundraising. We are hugely grateful to the XSite Braehead for continuing to stand by our hospital community.”
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity rely on donations to fund life-changing equipment, support services and research at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital. Charity-funded projects, including their Teddy Hospital, give children the opportunity to learn about their treatments in a child-friendly and non-clinical way through specialist play therapy, whilst their funded virtual visits from Clown Doctors play a vital role in helping to distract and relax young patients during their hospital stay.
