You are what your DNA makes you, according to guest speaker, Rosalind Holmes. She reveals how it’s all in the genes at a free talk to Paisley & District u3a on Thursday 5 May. This public meeting opens for refreshments at 1.30pm for a 2pm start in the Salvation Army Hall, Mill Street, Paisley (or view online via a Zoom link).
Commented u3a chair, Kathy O’Donnell: “Scientists love to explore genetics to find out how traits get passed on from one generation to the next. Our own genes are made up of unique DNA segments which act as a blueprint for life. This will be a fascinating talk as we discover why children often do inherit certain traits from their parents. I’m sure there are plenty of questions we want to ask Rosalind after we hear her presentation.”
East Renfrewshire u3a member and speaker, Rosalind Holmes said: “It's important that we appreciate that our genes not only control what we look like, but everything that happens in our bodies, as well as influencing some of our life experiences. It is fascinating how our DNA does that.”
