The theme this year is a celebration of the science and the power of books!
Sign up at the library and you will receive a starter poster which you can add stickers to as you read books to complete the challenge.
There are a fantastic range of books for all ages and interests, and you can also read or listen to books online using our Libby and Borrowbox apps!
Libraries will be running free STEM activities throughout the summer - Gadgeteer fun for children and the Skoobmobile, mobile library service will be visiting communities across Renfrewshire with fun crafts, digital play and reading adventures.
There are special prizes as you go through the Challenge including a free swim pass for any One Ren pool when you read 3 books and a certificate and a medal when you complete the Challenge. You can also take part in our Design a robot competition sponsored by Doosan Babcock with a free iPad for the winner and local business Consilium will also provide a pair of cinema tickets for one lucky winner in each library who completes the Challenge.
The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at children ages 4 – 11, but younger children can also join in with the special mini challenge.
