‘My Journey So Far - Masters, Menopause, Fragility of life, and dealing with loss’ takes place at The Art Department and features large abstract paintings, ceramics, fibreglass sculptures and mosaic.

Pieraccini graduated in September 2023 from Glasgow School of Art and attained an MLitt in fine art, prior to that she completed her BA honour degree at city of Glasgow College in Contemporary Art, this exhibition is a journey through the last five years and the progression of her work.

Commenting on her first solo show, Pieraccini said: “I have been exploring parallel approaches to abstraction in my practice through materiality, expressivity, action, gesture, and paint. I have a strong emotional connection with my work, I express myself through art. As artists have layers of depth, complexity, sensitivity, and ambiguities. It is said what frequently matters most in art is emotion. I’m delighted to have my first solo show in Paisley, my hometown.”

Some artworks have never been seen before, and this show highlights Pieraccini’s progression and how her art has evolved. Her work was selected in the PAI 132nd exhibition, showcased twice in The John Byrne Award and included in the Big Art Show 2022-2023, Paisley. Most of the work in the show is for sale. A price can be obtained within the Gallery.

Steven Thomson, Creative Director of The Art Department, said: “We’re delighted to host Angela’s first solo show. It’s been a joy to see her colourful explosion of work feature in our two recent editions of the Big Art Show 2022 and 2023. Now we can appreciate her larger body of work, of over 100 artworks, lighting up these cold dark months. Come and visit and enjoy!”
