Screening on Friday 17th May 2024 at Elderslie Village Hall as part of our Spring Film Exhibition programme.
Join Refractive, in collaboration with Johnstone Textile Space, for a screening of award-winning documentary film, The Nettle Dress, by Dylan Howitt (Director) starring Allan Brown. Synopsis: ‘After the death of his beloved wife, textile artist Allan Brown embarks on a seven-year endeavor to weave a hand-spun dress from stinging nettles foraged in the woods surrounding his home.’
The screening will also include award-winning short film, ‘Dig’, by Gary Hewitt (Director). Synopsis: ‘A mother searches a secluded beach, determined to find a certain item, that will bring her some closure.’
This special event will also include a pre-screening workshop, facilitated by Johnstone Textile Space. Woven Textile Designer, Jonny MacKinnon, will deliver a weaving-based workshop between 6.30-7.45pm, before the film commences at 8pm.
