Screening on Thursday 11th July at The Bungalow (Paisley) as part of our Spring Film Exhibition programme.
Alongside the screening, we are excited to present a post-screening Q&A with the director and writer, Zoë Hunter and Ros Borland! The screening will take place on Thursday 11th July, book a ticket for only £5 below.
Doors open 7pm, film screening 7.15 pm.

Celtic Media Festival Torc Award winner for excellence, supernatural thriller Dark Soul (A film for the Ears) in association with the Royal National Institute of Blind People Scotland, is directed by Zoë Hunter and written by Ros Borland. This is a feature length concept film aimed at making cinema accessible on an equal platform for those who are blind or partially sighted. Dark Soul is not a conventional film – it is screenplay narrated (not audio descripted) and sighted people are invited to wear an eye mask in the cinema for the duration of the action (opening and end credits are laid to picture). We recently had a private test screening with an audience made up primarily of visually impaired people – and guide dogs! It worked brilliantly. The feedback from the visually impaired attendees made a powerful case to do more Films for the Ears Event Cinema screenings aka “Dark Screenings”, in order for those who experience sight loss to enjoy the film collectively and be part of a cinema going community. Dark Soul is a real opportunity for cinemas and festivals to make a bold statement about making cinema more inclusive for specific marginalised groups – like the blind and visually impaired community. Dark Soul is the chance to do it first!

Synopsis: Edinburgh, Scotland. A man is shot in a restaurant cold room. Simultaneously, a young woman, Donna, gives birth to a daughter, Carey. Seven years later, Donna’s house is burgled and Inspector Carlow attends. Carey starts to have bad dreams and so the nightmare begins.
