About Film Screening: Angelheaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan & T. Rex
The film screening will take place on Monday 24th February at The Bungalow, Paisley’s award-winning independent ethical live music venue.
The evening will also include a screening of The Renfrew Rhymer (2020), a short film directed by Paul Russell.
Doors open 7pm, screening starts at 7.15pm. Refreshments will be available to purchase although you are also welcome to bring your own snacks.

Angelheaded Hipster is the first documentary to explore the complex and revolutionary music and lyrics of Marc Bolan and T. Rex. This film (‘A must-see look at the life of a true British icon’ – Rolling Stone), uses archival performances, interviews with Bolan, Elton John and Ringo Starr, plus filmed musical interpretations by artists such as Nick Cave, John Cameron Mitchell, Joan Jett, Macy Gray, U2, Lucinda Williams, Father John Misty, and son Rolan Bolan among others; this documentary creates an exuberant and thoughtful examination of a true original: a glam rock pioneer, gender-bending free spirit and explorer of punk and soul music.

The Renfrew Rhymer is a film on the life of Walter McCorrisken. With the help of Walter’s son, Richard, filmmaker, Paul Russell tells the amazing story of the Renfrew poet and writer’s life.
