Community Energy can mean a wide range of things: generating renewable energy, decarbonising community buildings, home energy retrofit or tackling fuel poverty.
This workshop is aimed at community organisations and individuals in Renfrewshire to explore what energy challenges their communities are facing and what type of projects might help address them. We will look at examples that have been successful in other communities and work together to decide whether any of these models could be successful in our communities.
Joe Smee from Glasgow Community Energy will deliver this workshop.
Glasgow Community Energy is a community energy co-op that aims to ensure Glasgow’s transition to net-zero is rooted in climate and social justice. Their main focus is on bringing local people together to install solar panels on rooftops in Glasgow, increasing democratic ownership of our energy system and generating funds that can be distributed via their Cathy McCormack Community Activism Fund.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
