Guest speaker, Barbara Graham shares the uphill battle Florence Nightingale had to change nursing practices.
Barbara, with the University of Strathclyde’s Centre for Learning, reveals Florence the campaigner as well as her ‘lady with the lamp’ image.
u3a chair, Kathy O’Donnell said: “There have been many health pioneers and we are curious to learn about Florence Nightingale’s contribution. This talk will explain the policies she fought to introduce which later saved so many lives.”
Paisley and District u3a’s meeting starts at 2pm in the Salvation Army Hall in Mill Street (PA1 1ND), with refreshments from 1.30pm.
