Have you thought about having a go at fermenting food but don't know where to start?
In this relaxed session with Bora, hosted by Renfrewshire Climate Action Hub, you will be able to chat and share some food, while learning about two methods of fermenting. Learn about how a little salt can preserve your fresh vegetables without reducing their vitamin and mineral content, and turn them into probiotic-rich foods.
During the demonstration Bora will show you how easy it is to make a simple and tasty brine ferment and a basic Sauerkraut using simple ingredients and tools. At the end of the session you will have a go at preparing your own herbal salt which can be used for future fermenting, as a seasonal gift or an addition to your spice cupboard. All ingredients will be provided.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
