The BBC Good Food Show Scotland will be packed with live cookery demos from top chefs and experts, the finest food and drink producers, regional specialities and plenty of culinary inspiration.
This year’s highlights include the return of The Big Kitchen where you can pick up top tips and recipe inspiration from a stellar line up of your favourite TV chefs, including: Michelin-starred Tom Kerridge; MasterChef’s John Torode; chef, author and TV presenter, Nadiya Hussain and the return of Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood. Each chef will host cookery demonstrations in the Big Kitchen over the course of the weekend. Sessions last approximately 30 minutes and visitors can secure a seat to see their favourite TV chef by booking a Super Ticket (sessions will be available to book on the day for £3, subject to availability). New for 2018, Relais & Chateaux present: Glenapp & Ballyfin with David Alexander from Glenapp and Sam Moddy from Ballyfin.
New for this year is Travelsphere presents: A Taste of Italy – hosted by Marcus Bean with guest chef Eleonora Galasso - this FREE live cookery demo is inspired by Travelsphere’s carefully crafted tours and will take place on Friday 19 October at 1.30pm in The Big Kitchen. Visitors should book a ticket to secure a seat at the demo.
The Let’s Talk Food Stage will be featuring interviews with the celebrity line-up and other culinary experts. Hosted by Barney Desmazery, these sessions are free to attend.
Pop-Up Restaurants – sample the city’s culinary delights from pop-ups of some of Glasgow’s finest restaurants. New for 2018 – visit Chez Mal, Malmaison Glasgow’s French-inspired restaurant, on Friday; on Saturday, it’s the return of Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery and on Sunday, Grill on the Corner, based in Bothwell Street, will be making their premier at the show.
NEW for 2018 - Taste the World presented by the Glasgow Restaurant Association. Come along to the sampling theatre and listen to top local restauranteurs as they share samples of canapés and sweet bites for the audience to taste. Sessions are free to attend and don’t require booking in advance. Anne Mulhern from The Willow Tea Rooms will host the sessions.
Also NEW for this year – get hands-on in a masterclass at The Spirits Lounge. Let the experts at The Gin Lounge inspire you to create your own gin infusion to bottle and take home, plus learn how to blend the perfect whisky cocktail from world class bartenders at The Whisky Lounge. Visitors should book in advance via the website as places are limited. Whisky masterclasses cost £15 per person and gin masterclasses £10 per person.
Bookshop – visitors can shop for the latest cookbooks and have them signed in book signing sessions. It’s the perfect opportunity to snap a selfie with your favourite chef!
Shopping Areas - featuring a huge range of the finest independent and artisan producers and favourite big brands. Sample and shop for Scottish specialities – everything from cheese and chutney to whisky and gin! Shopping areas include: Producers Village, BBC Good Food Champions, Farmers Market & The Drinks Cabinet
Producers Bursary Awards - once again, the show is helping to support food and drink producers in the artisan and speciality food industry by hosting the Producers Bursary Awards. Winners will receive a free stand package at a BBC Good Food Show. Applications for Shows in 2018-2019 are now open.
