Image: The children of Bridge of Weir Primary are excited to be involved in the Quarriers Festival of Choirs which is being staged at various shopping centres across Glasgow.
The angelic voices of schoolchildren, church and community choirs will be singing throughout December in Princes Square, St Enoch’s Centre and Braehead Shopping Centre. There will also be a special one-off performance from Rockus Choir at Tesco, Linwood, on Tuesday, December 5th at 7.00-8.00pm.
The event is raising money for Quarriers services across Scotland, which supports more than 5000 people to help make a positive impact on their lives.
This year, 19 schools are taking part, as well as 13 community choirs, making 2023’s Festival of Choirs one of the biggest to date. The FOCs offers a fantastic variety of choirs including Westerton Male Voice Choir, based in Bearsden, and the award-winning SoundSational Community Choir from North Lanarkshire. Above all, the collective sound of children singing, is what ultimately steals every performance.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to enjoy the singing and if they can, pop some money into the collection boxes to help Quarriers fund the outstanding support it provides throughout Scotland.
Louise Strachan, Quarriers Events and Community Fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled to have The Festival of Choirs back on our Christmas event’s calendar. All the choirs are looking forward to being involved, and we are grateful for all their support and can’t wait for everyone to hear them perform a range of festive favourites.”
The timetable:
Braehead Shopping Centre – Monday, December 4th – Tuesday, December 5th (Various times throughout the day and special evening performances from 6.00pm until 8.15pm)
St Enoch Shopping Centre – Wednesday, December 6th – Sunday, December 10th (11pm-12pm and 1.30pm-3.45pm)
