Miller Homes, Scotland's leading homebuilder, is inviting local groups and causes in Paisley to apply to its Community Fund, with applications for the next round now open. The initiative offers those in need, particularly near its Hawkhead and Thornly Park developments, a chance to share in a £10,000 fund.
Since its launch in September 2022, the initiative has made a significant impact on communities around Miller Homes' developments. So far, 2,128 groups and charities have applied, and 324 have been awarded grants, totalling £231,000. In Scotland alone, 109 groups have benefited, with support coming from Miller Homes’ Scotland West and Scotland East regions, as well as its timber frame business, Walker Timber in Bo’ness.
Andrew McArthur, Regional Operations Director for Miller Homes Scotland West, is eager to hear from local groups about how the fund can help them. He said: “The Community Fund is a fantastic way to support the residents of Paisley and other areas where we are building. We encourage projects in the early stages of fundraising or those needing a boost to continue their efforts to apply.
"We receive a wide range of applications each year, supporting everything from local sports teams and musical groups to community gardening initiatives and foodbanks.”
During the application process, groups will need to outline how they plan to use the funding, whether it's to support education, wellbeing, sports participation, or environmental improvements.
Applications for the Community Fund will close on Monday 28 October, with a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 awarded. Successful applicants will be notified in November, and payments awarded in December.
