Collagraph uses plates made from low relief textures and then passed through a press. You will experiment making plates using wallpaper, tapes, fabrics, glue, modelling paste and carborundum which can be printed intaglio and relief. You will then look at different methods of layering, tearing and manipulating the fabrics, which you will combine using machine and hand embroidery, to create a fine art textile. I will offer guidance throughout the week to help you confidently find your own self-expression.
This workshop is suitable for all levels including beginners. If you’re looking for inspiration and new ways to direct your work, this is the ideal course. It’s full of fun and playful creativity and I will be there to support and guide you through the process.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
