In our upholstery workshop we will show you how to give new life to your old chair. If you have a favourite chair at home, you are most welcome to bring it long. Please check your product with us beforehand to ensure that your project is manageable on the weekend. We will show you how to restore a French Antique chair, similar to the ones on our Facebook.
If you do not have a chair at home, you are welcome to pop into our warehouse to purchase a chair beforehand. We carry a variety of chairs that can be purchased on the day or beforehand the average price is around £40. We recommend that you purchase your upholstery material and buy this in plenty before the workshop. Etsy has lovely upholstery material or visit your nearest haberdashery store to buy suitable material. We recommend that you buy at least 2 meters of fabric, if you wish to have a contrasting material in your chair, more material is needed. If you chair requires a braid or trim, we recommend that you purchase this beforehand together with your material to ensure it matches.
We provide black and white paint for your chair. If you require another colour, we ask that you bring your own. We recommend that you buy a furniture paint with varnish already in it, and ideally water based to ensure that it is dried on time.
The workshop will take place over two consecutive days, on day one we will strip and paint your chair and day two will add the material and braid. Both days 10.00-16.00
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
