RIG Arts and Williamsburgh Housing Association will be working with Produced Moon to deliver a Game Jam Fun Day Event as an extension to the EVOLVE project.
A game jam is a workshop where people come together to make games. Game jams usually have a theme (or several) chosen by the group and people work alone or in small teams to make games of all kinds: board games, puzzle games, video games, card games. Game Jams are run by groups of people all over the world, each a little different. Produced Moon's game jams have their own special spin.
We celebrate the creation of games of all types, anything from an interactive theatre experience to a new version of snap. Our game jams welcome both experienced game makers and people who've never made a game before. Because of this, we always take the time to talk through some of the fundamentals of game design, and lead the group through some game analysis before we head into a process of creation.
We encourage people to create alone or in groups, and push game makers to make things that are new to them, or take on roles they have never tried before. We always end a game jam with a sharing (with free food!) - an opportunity for game makers to share and celebrate what they have created with each other, and for everyone to play each other's games.
We'll have more arts and crafts activities on offer on the day along with free food and drinks.
This is a first come, first served event with capacity for 75 people. If you're interested in registering your interest or you have any access needs, please email beth@rigarts.org or call RIG Arts on 01475 720847
