On this Heritage Walk we explore the heritage of the site of the former Anchor Mills of J & J Clark, later part of the Coats Group. We will look at the surviving buildings, and describe the buildings that have been lost over the whole site since the mid 1800s.
The Anchor Mills were end of a long tradition of textiles work in the Seedhill area and we will look at dye works, textile finishing works and other earlier shawl factories and other cotton thread mills that once shared the site with the Clark family.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
