About Birding & Birdsong for Beginners
Are you new to birdwatching or wanting to improve your identification skills? Would you like to be able to identify birds by their song as well as by sight? Join the team at RSPB Lochwinnoch for this ideal workshop to introduce beginners and experienced birders alike to the delights of birdsong. Learn more about common birds and their song and pick up tips and advice on wildlife watching techniques. Gain advice on how to use binoculars and scopes and how to choose printed resources to help you confidently identify wildlife. After this we’ll head out onto the reserve to put your new skills into practice, and then top it all off with a hot drink back at the centre. You don’t even need your own binoculars, as they are available to hire from the shop! Online booking essential.
Outdoor elements of this event will stick to reserve trails and public footpaths. Walks will vary in length depending on route taken and weather but should not exceed 2.5 miles. People must come suitably attired for the weather and wearing appropriate footwear. Unsuitably attired people may not be permitted to go on the walk. Stout footwear and clothing suitable for the Scottish outdoors are strongly recommended.
