This month we are going to explore Paisley Poor Relief from the Churches point of view. Records dating back into the late 18th Century for the combined Paisley Session give an indication of Income the churches received from their parishoners and how the money was distributed to the Poor of the town.
The August session of our Family History Cafe series will again be held in Blend @ Paisley Arts Centre (15 New St, Paisley PA1 1EZ) between 10 and 11.30am on Saturday 2nd August.
The session is free, but we like to support our hosts by purchasing drinks, etc, while we are there. From September 2025, there will be a small booking fee for all of our Family History Cafe and Local history Cafe sessions. The fee will go towards The Beatson Cancer Charity.
You will receive an automatic email when you book and a further email just before the event confirming locations, etc.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
