Organised and promoted by LNP Promotions, the annual festival-within-a-festival celebrates all things Mod and Mod related culture.
This year’s event takes place at the Spiegeltent in the town’s Bridge Street on Saturday 3 September with a full day of music, live entertainment and charity fundraising, as well as the eagerly anticipated scooter ride out.
Scooters from around Scotland and further afield will gather in Bridge Street, close to the historic Paisley Abbey, at 12pm before heading out and around the town. The ride out, run by the Paisley Vespa Scooter Club, has attracted over 100 individual scooters to take part in recent years and fundraising efforts this year will be going to March of the Mods, Paisley, all in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
ModStuff will see two fantastic Spiegeltent music shows on the Saturday with free afternoon entertainment from START!, Berry Tweed & The Chasers, The Absolute Jam and DJ Gerry McGuire from 12pm – 5pm, before a ticketed evening event featuring London-based singer-songwriter Emily Capell and Manchester group The Electric Stars from 7pm.
Tickets for the ModStuff evening show are on sale now and available from www.thespree.co.uk
Gary Kerr of LNP Promotions said: “It’s so good to have ModStuff back in the Spiegeltent this year on the opening Saturday of Paisley’s The Spree festival. This year, there’s a brilliant mix of local and national, original, cover and tribute acts – and of course Gerry will be there too, to hold it all together. It’s always a fantastic day.”
The Spree music and comedy festival is organised by Renfrewshire Council and will take place from Thursday 1 – Saturday 10 September. Tickets are still available for ModStuff and other top shows including Tinariwen, The Bootleg Beatles, Barbara Dickson & Rab Noakes, Horse McDonald, Altered Images, Sunday Jazz Brunch with Rose Room, Susie McCabe, and The Slow Readers Club.
Spree for All 'fringe festival' events will also take place in venues across Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone, Kilbarchan & Lochwinnoch between Thursday 1 – Sunday 11 September.
Kids and families can enjoy the Wee Spree programme of events and activities to coincide with the school holidays from Saturday 15 – Sunday 23 October. Tickets for these events are on sale now.
Details of full programmes and ticket information for The Spree, Spree for All and Wee Spree are available at www.thespree.co.uk or from the festival box office at InCube Shop, 9b Gilmour Street, Paisley, PA1 1DG.
